Verizon is seeking an experienced Tax Counsel to join our U.S. Non-income tax research and planning team. The candidate should have solid knowledge of all areas of state and local non-income tax laws – prior experience with issues impacting the telecommunications industry a plus.

The position will focus primarily on non-income taxes for the Verizon companies, and legal research specifically related to sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, and other non- income and regulatory taxes. The ideal candidate will have experience that includes a mix of tax research, tax compliance, and tax controversy support to identify and resolve complex tax research questions. The candidate will also be involved with new product launches and coordinating with various internal billing and payable systems and accounting teams to ensure tax compliance.
